Travis started Zen meditation in 2010 in Omaha. This turns out to be a great place to start a mind-body practice because meditation is the seat to which yoga asana leads. Having jumped right into the deep end of things, it didn’t take long before Travis moved from a cushion to a mat, from stillness to motion. Likewise, his classes are a way for mind to follow breath as it folds and unfolds the body into shape. Classes are intended to allow fellow practitioners to experience the source from which both yoga and meditation spring.
Travis draws from a colorful diversity of yoga, meditation, philosophy and healing practices which include power vinyasa, hatha, restorative yoga, nidra, Kundalini, Ayurveda, reiki, and his personal mainstays: Ashtanga and yin yoga. He mixes this rich body-mind masala into all-level flows, power vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga. Classes typically come with bits of philosophy, pranayama, asana, 1-on-1 feedback and a few light touches of humor and curiosity.
